Reconstructed numerous times after destruction by various invaders. The recent reconstruction was initiated by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Architecture
Built in the Chalukya style of Hindu temple architecture. It features the Baan Stambh (Arrow Pillar), indicating a straight line over the ocean with no landmass until Antarctica.
Spiritual Significance
It is revered as the first Jyotirlinga. The temple's location by the Arabian sea provides a deeply serene and spiritual atmosphere.
