Overview
Dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, who appeared to save mankind from the trials of Kali Yuga. It's often referred to as the Temple of Seven Hills.
History
The temple has received patronage from various dynasties, including the Pallavas, Cholas, Pandyas, and the Vijayanagara Empire. Krishnadevaraya was a major contributor.
Architecture
Dravidian architecture style with a gold-plated Ananda Nilayam vimana over the main sanctum. The complex spans 2.2 acres.
Spiritual Significance
It is the richest temple in terms of donations received and wealth. It attracts 50,000 to 100,000 pilgrims daily.
