Tirupalli Mukkudal Tirunethranathar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, situated in the Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu, India. The presiding deity is worshipped as Tirunethranathar alongside his consort Parvati, known locally as Mayilmevum Kanni. Historically referred to as Kekkarai, the site is recognized as one of the sacred 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams.

Sacred History

"The temple at Tirupalli Mukkudal, historically known as Kekkarai, carries a rich spiritual tradition tied to early medieval Tamil Shaivism. It gained canonical reverence through its inclusion in the Tevaram poems, which were composed by the famous Tamil Saivite Nayanar saint, Tirunavukkarasar. In these hymns, Tirunavukkarasar venerated the distinct attributes of Lord Shiva present at Tirupalli Mukkudal. This literary association firmly established the temple as a significant Paadal Petra Sthalam within the Shaivite tradition."
