Overview
Founded by the Vaishnavite saint Shri Madhvacharya in the 13th century. It is known for its rigorous customs and the daily mass feeding.
History
Legend says the Krishna idol was found by Madhvacharya in a large ball of gopichandana (clay) from a sunken ship.
Architecture
Unlike standard temples, the deity is worshipped through a silver-plated nine-holed window (Navagraha Kindi).
Spiritual Significance
A major center of Dvaita philosophy. It operates a massive 'Bhojana Shala' serving free meals daily.
